Rev. Dr. Kate Wiebe led plenary session, "When Today's Business is a Disaster," for Student Personnel from seminaries around the country at the Association of Theological School's conference in San Antonio.
Your gifts provided a seminar for youth ministers and school counselors to explore practical collaborations for effective response and recovery from violence involving youth. Co-hosted with Prepare2care, Lompoc, CA on Thursday, February 26th.

2014 Forum for Disaster Preparedness
Thanks to a community grant and your gifts, 80 faith based and community based leaders learned in person (and countless ministers continue to learn online) from guest speakers Congresswoman Lois Capps, David Myers, Department of Homeland Security's Director of the Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, and Brie Loskota, Managing Director of USC's Center for Religion and Civic Culture, about "Strengthening Partnerships" for whole community care.

A church grant and your gifts provided training for ordained and lay ministers in an urban church in Pittsburgh. Training focused on "Congregational Response to Violence and Care for those Affected," following ongoing neighborhood shootings.
April 2014 Forum with Dr. Jannah Scott
Thanks to your gifts, ICTG and VOADSBC co-hosted a small forum for faith leaders and VOAD stakeholders, with guest speaker Jannah Scott, Deputy Director of the Department for Homeland Security's Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Dr. Scott shared about the Center's initiatives for expanding faith leader participation in community-wide disaster preparedness. This was an initial meeting prior to a larger forum that will be held in Fall 2014.

ICTG will join 35 other nonprofits and mission organizations Jan 24-25th at the 12th annual Santa Barbara Mission Conference, held at First Presbyterian Church, 21 E Constance Ave, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. If you're attending or want to just show up, we look forward to seeing you there!
2013 Run Walk Hike Bike Challenge
Participants around the country dedicated a sport – a run, walk, hike, or ride – to congregations, volunteers, or ministers who are steadfast in the work of long-term post-disaster ministry. Some of the who and why of their dedications have been shared in the 2013 RWHB blog. Participants came from Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and California, to raise awareness and funding for ICTG programs by contributing a registration fee and asking friends and family to sponsor your ride or route.
